"Alstead resident Moe Mozier died Wednesday, following a bicycle accident in which he suffered serious injuries in Langdon last month. Mozier, a prominent and beloved figure in the community, owned and operated the popular Keene destination Henry David’s restaurant in the 1980s and was a Realtor at Re/Max Town and Country in Keene.

Henry David's was fabulous. The "in" place to be. He took all that he learned at Brattleboro's Tavern restaurant and all his other prior restaurant experiences and made an exquisite and very popular place. Prior to Moe it had been the renowned Crystal Restaurant that also had a Brattleboro connection. That was operated by Dino Houpis whose brother was Brattleboro pediatrician Dr. John Houpis. Moe was an amazingly talented man when it came to the food service industry. That he left it and went into reality was very sad. But I always thought it was because he had done the ultimate and knew he couldn't top himself one more time. I spent many hours in the Tavern and quite a few in Henry Davids from the gutted building being converted to the finished product and on to a great dining spot. His home in Alstead with his wife Shelly was equally warm and welcoming and also provided wonderful dining with a great couple, friends that I will miss.

I'll second that, Henry David's was very nice, my wife would drag me in just to look at the plants while we ate a burger named after a local town in the area.. just a lot of nice little touches that added up to repeat business!
