Open Music Collective announces a Classical Happening Intensive
Hugh Keelan, Lisa Ferrigno, Aaron I. Hilbun and Jaimie Macdonald will lead 3 days of instrumental ensemble work culminating in a concert on Sunday, September 26 at 2pm. On Friday, September 24 2010, from 6-8pm at OMC at Cotton Mill, musicians of all ages and backgrounds will meet for the first time, read through and rehearse ensemble and solo pieces from Classical and other traditions.
A faculty with world-class credentials in strings, pedagogy, theory, conducting, solo performance, woodwind, jazz, symphony, chorus, composition and MUSIC will lead, mentor, collaborate and perform, bringing rich and diverse perspectives to the ensemble experience that follows on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September from 9:30am till 3:30pm at OMC. Lunch, learning and listening are all included in prices beginning at $100 for this very unusual Classical exploration and 'happening'. Please call 802 275-5054 or visit info@openmusiccollective.org for enrollment and questions.
Musicians from beginner to professional will benefit from this experience: repertoire from the Baroque to the experimental based on enrollment is available. Already under consideration are works by Darius Milhaud, Antonio Vivaldi, John Cage, Kurt Weill and David Amram: ambitious, gratifying and challenging works that are alike attractive to students at an early point in their musical journey and to seasoned performers.
