What will we do when we can no longer power our cars with a non-renewable fuel source? Bike of course! But why wait?! Come experience the romance of a pedal powered way-of-life. The workshop will cover basic bike maintenance, year round/ winter cycling, what bike is good for your needs, and the gas-free vacation. The session will be September 5th from 1:30 to 3pm at the Putney Library. A joyful and social bike ramble will follow, leaving from the parking lot at 3:30 (weather permitting).
Baeree Wyman has been a rider, a mechanic, and an activist of bicycle awareness for many years. In 2005 he performed a Thoreau-type experiment to see if he could live in a remote cabin and only use a bike to transport food, water, and himself. jess Sanford facilitates Antioch Universities Green Bike Program. Together they have toured all over New England without using cars.
