On Wednesday, September 8, at 7pm in the meeting room of the Brook's Memorial Library in downtown Brattleboro, author and poet, Rodger Martin will read selections from his just published second collection of poetry, "The Battlefield Guide." The book focuses on the major battles of the Civil War: Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry, and Antietem. Ideal for Civil War buffs who like poetry, as well. Free and open to the public.

Rodger Martin has been awarded an Appalachia award for poetry. He is a New Hampshire State Council on the Arts Fellow in fiction. His work has been published in literary journals throughout the U.S. and China. He and six colleagues have been featured in "On the Monadnock: New Pastoral Poetry." He is managing editor of the Worcester Review, teaches journalism at Keene State College, and directs New Hampshire’s Poetry Out Loud Project.
