    Activism - FRIDAY SEPT. 3, 2010

A panel of local citizens will discuss 9/11 and its relevance to the current state of the nation on September 11, 2010, 3pm, at Keene State College’s Alumni Recital Hall (Redfern Arts Center). The event is sponsored by the Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance and the Political Science/Economics Department at Keene State College.

The following citizens agreed to serve as members of the panel:

    Dan Bartlett, Architect AIA
    Mark Basile, Chemical Engineer
    Gerhard Bedding, Citizen
Michael E.J. Blastos, former Mayor of Keene
Richard L. Foley, Ph.D., Professor at Keene State College
    Jack Meagher, Engineer
    Barbara Hull Richardson, NH Representative
William Woodward, Ph.D., Professor at University of New Hampshire
    John Wyndham, Ph.D. Physics

In addition to the panel discussion, brief video clips taken on 9/11/01 will be shown. These revealing videos have been suppressed by the media. A Q & A session at the end will allow this event to become a true Community Forum.

Panel member and NH Representative Barbara Hull Richardson commented: “The Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the War on Terror, the Patriot Act, are all based on the official account of 9/11. More than 30 peer-reviewed studies now exist, contradicting the government’s explanation of the World Trade Center’s destruction. A thorough, independent, new investigation is needed.”

Contact Gerhard Bedding, 603-355-2202, for more information.

Oh, I see, at first I thought you meant you were holding a forum to honor the victims of 9/11 but after careful reading I see that you must actually be honoring the numbers 9 & 11. No one but a ghoulish cretin would show videos of that tragedy and discuss conspiracy theories as a way to honor the 9/11 dead. Especially on the anniversary.....that would just simply be too cruel.

Is it still too soon to discuss the events? Or do you think those who died would prefer we remember them by accepting the promulgated version of events?

Given that many of them were either in a huge skyscraper in Manhattan, or the Pentagon (neither strikes me as a hotbed of conformist orthodoxy, nor a likely place to find those who choose received truth over reason), I double the second is true. Given that it is being held on the 9th anniversary, the former seems crazy. I'm not sure what the objection could be.

If you think the questions settled, perhaps you should attend and debunk? Or accept that some will always believe in a different truth than you.

"I'm not sure what the objection could be."
The objection would be that their horrific deaths are being used as ghoulish creepy entertainment and in some cases profit making for the benefit of a bunch of non-thinking or caring jerks. There are 364 other days to hold your little 9-11 truth meetings. Have a moment of silence or a prayer service or something else in their memory. Once again I must add, my child has shown great wisdom in rejecting Keene State as the lack of scholarship at this school becomes more and more self evident. Sponsoring this event, my gawd, what an exhibition of bad judgment.

Would the atheist prefer a prayer?

I won't be going to this event. I think the issue of how we, as a nation, have used and abused these events and the death and destruction they brought is more important than arguing, or proselytizing, about how to assign blame for them.

I do find it terrifying, though, how often the solution is to not talk about things, how often the presumption that people cannot recognize a sensationalist ploy or cold exploitation is revealed.

You don't want to be a part of the conversation. That makes perfect sense to me. The rage at the idea that others do is confusing.

Who knows what the atheist would prefer once killed. But certainly not a bunch of ghouls sitting around pretending they are "honoring" the death by discussing conspiracy theories and financially benefiting those who have been making money off this cottage industry.

"You don't want to be a part of the conversation. That makes perfect sense to me. The rage at the idea that others do is confusing."

If these ghouls want to make money off of conspiracy theories fine but just pick a different day to do it. As I pointed out they have 364 other choices but don't pretend this is about honoring anyone.

Perhaps you've missed prior conversations but the rage comes from personal experience of the event up close and personal as well as knowledge of the buildings, the situation that day, the mistruths (WTC7) about fires, the purported peer reviewed papers (all vanity presses, not substantial accredited reviews) and the fact that all roads lead back to a handful of people who are financially benefiting from these groups while putting up phony credentials and pretending to be more than they ever were in order to benefit from the deaths of others. Not to mention some who have political motives and are using these deaths and the "movement" callously to exploit their own political motivations.

That's where the rage comes from..........

OH I think it can be discussed and even questions as to why put forth but just for this one day particularly with this one group because there are people making money from this "cottage" industry, leave it alone for crying out loud. Ånd particularly don't claim to be holding a truther event on the anniversary in "honor" of the victims. What a bunch of hooey.

"Honor" 9/11 Victims? In what convoluted universe does this Truther Convention qualify as an "Honor" for 9/11 Victims? Call it what it is. A Truther Convention on the one day they can cash in on most- the anniversary of the death of thousands. This doesn't honor any dead, it exploits them.

    911 ways to "honor" 9/11
    Authored by: babalu on Monday, September 06 2010 @ 08:24 PM GMT+5
I'm sure most everyone has heard about the crackpot in Florida who is calling on folks to symbolically burn copies of the Koran over the weekend? This having to do with the mosque in NYC, but being carried out on the anniversary of 9/11.

I thought there were ample laws that have nothing to do with religion that could be used to stop some of the madness; "inciting a riot" comes to mind. I wish someone would just step up to the plate and demand that people start using the brain their "god" gave them so that all of this crap can come to an abrupt end - including the discussions on theory.

It's scary to look at some of the percentages involved in terms of who is up to what concerning 9/11, who is believing what nonsense, and the various ways that people are choosing to "honor" the dead by virtue of instilling yet more fear and hate.

How many people would be listening say, on June 4th to an invitation to examine theory or burn Korans?

I never bought the official story of 9/11 and I never will. Whether it was LIHOP or MIHOP or something in between, I'll never know but I don't talk about it obviously, because I'd be slammed as a crazy, tinfoil hat wearing nutcase (which despite my geopolitical views, I am not).

So to echo Ivan -- is it really too soon?

I think it will always be too soon with regard to 9/11, similar to the way people were still ridiculing folks who didn't buy the single-bullet theory long into the 1980s. I guess what I don't understand is why we trust public officials in this case, even though many of us suspect them of lying about all manner of other things -- just not this one.

Why Do You Call Yourself a "Truther?"
    Authored by: Maus Anon E on Wednesday, September 08 2010 @ 09:26 AM GMT+5
I think it's weird that by questioning the official report, you voluntarily group yourself with the fringe "truthers." It's true that they have co-opted the word "truth," but they don't seek the same truth that you do. In fact, far from seeking the truth, they seek to "prove" their bizzarre hypothoses by distorting reality itself.

To be a "truther" is to believe that the government intentionally killed thousands of people, including rescue workers, when they wired the WTC with explosives. They have "proven" that explosives were used to bring down the WTC, not the two planes that we all saw crash into them.

To be a "truther" is to deny, for instance, that hundreds of people on the plane that crashed into the Pentagon died in a horrible terrorist attack. They like to "prove" that a plane couldn't have made that damage. (I know someone, now dead, who saw that plane crash into the Pentagon.)

To be a "truther" is to deny that hundreds of people died on the plane that crashed into Shanksville, PA. Truthers have "proven" that the crater there wasn't caused by a plane.

So yes, it is too soon to get a group together on the anniversary of 9/11 and talk about how some of the people who died that day didn't really die, and how the others were put down like dogs by their own government. It's too soon to entertain the stupidity of people who have been proven wrong time and time again, not only by independent experts, but by eye witnesses. I can't imagine there will ever be a good time to, as I say, mock the victims of 9/11.

Do you really entertain the notion that the government was behind the attack, and that there were no planes at the Pentagon and Shanksville?

NO, not for me, for me it's mainly the fact that certain people who have spent their time making money and seeking some sort of "fame" promulgating 9-11 truth which is distasteful enough, now do so on the actual anniversary of that horrific day. Well actually I guess yes, also the word honor seems pretty out of place and context in regards to this motley crew. And then of course there's the self-righteous attitude that leads them to make claims that they know what happened regardless of what eye-witnesses saw. Lise, have you seen the real photos of the fires at WT7, not the ones from the far side of the building put out by the truthers? I'm speaking about the ones that show that entire floors of the building on the side facing the WTC were engulfed in flame. I knew people who saw those fires, but I guess they were just delusional or something or lying because god knows the truthers know better than any eyewitnesses....

Oh Melton they just annoy me in general but maybe you're right....."honor" please give me a break.

Lise, didn't mean to single you out and my post might have seemed that way. I'm just baffled when people I regard as bright seem to be willing to not give credence to these truthers over eyewitnesses. Any time you look closely at their claims it's all a sham including those supposedly peer reviewed papers which are really just vanity presses. I don't get the need to think that there was something more than what there was.......

But as I said go ahead feel free discuss it but why not pick one of the other 364 days in the year. Why does it have to be on the anniversary? Why not show some ounce or two of respect and then do your little truther thing another day.

It is good to question authority, and 9/11 offers us many
reasons to question. That 3000 people were killed then,
as if 3000 people aren't killed everyday in one way or
another, many more torturously than the ones we lost that
day. Have we lost sight of the immortality of spirit, and
the fact it was bodies lost, but spirit always continues.
Are the same people who are loathe to question the
facts about 9/11 able to question the facts about the bail-
out ? Do you doubt that reams of people have died quietly
out of the media's eye, in such scenarios as being thrown
onto the street so that a wall street banker can add a zero
    to his account ?
If, in fact steel building would never crumble as
witnessed, in the heat of a jet fuel fire, do we not owe
ourselves the duty to understand why it happened in this
    one scenario ?
WE have learned in history that other presidents use an
attack on homeland as a means to fire the population up
    for war.
I hope that you use your intellect to bolster your opinion
with something other than haranging and put-downs,
because bullying is no way to make a point. Steel
buildings do not dissolve into dust in fires, ANYWHERE,
why then did they do so then?
It is the answer you do not give, and nor has the office
    of the president.

Emily, this statement shows an such a huge lack of knowledge about the construction of the buildings and the science behind the fires and the components of the dust that it's just plain inexcusable. And that's the problem with those who only follow the information provided by truthers. I won't even touch your horrible comments about the deaths. Well gee Emily thanks for bringing up 9-11 Architects. Richard Gage, the founder, happens to be one of the most ghoulish of the opportunists who have managed to make a little career off of the deaths of the victims. An architect whose expertise never went beyond mall buildings and a high school gym and then, at best, a position that amounts to a paper pusher/go-fer for the firms he worked for, he claims a number of around 1200 engineers and architects who have signed on. Of those about 600-700 are in the US. Emily there are around 100,000 architects alone in the US. Of those 100,000 none who are of any substance or reputation have voiced any questions or concerns about the collapses. When I refer to ghouls Gage is foremost in my mind.

As for your absurd and insulting assumption that because one objects to a meeting of truthers being held on the anniversary of and supposedly in "honor" of 9-11 victims that one then does not have any feelings or concern about victims in other countries and/or conflicts......you just exhibit such a tremendous lack of understanding and such faulty reasoning that it is really quite astounding...do you really lack that great an understanding of nuance and complexity that you automatically assume that someone who objects to profit-making from 9-11 and lack of respect would automatically then not care about victims elsewhere. Is this really the line of reasoning you would take? Oh my.....................

One has to ponder, if any of what the Truthers say has merit, would it not stand to reason Obama would blow the roof off this thing and expose it for what it is... there would have been too many conspirators involved to remain silent so long. Certainly Obama would gain politically and seal his transparency claims! Where are all those Senate and House hearings? He has excess into info that no one else has.. clearly the Truthers had a profound effect over the last election, spewing propaganda and adverse credibility claims against the former administration etc.. by design. I think Obama's silence confirms the real story of what happened, or is he now part of it... wooooo.. another chapter

a day that I remember and celebrate the life of my
brother in law who died innocently on UA 175?

But then I watched others pigs get into the act. First
there is this "preacher" in Florida (who sells furniture in
his spare time on eBay) who wants to burn copies of the
Koran on 9/11. Then, the whole baloney surrounding the
proposed mosque near the site of the WTC and then that
complete ponce Donald Trump jumps into the fray and
says he will buy back the building to house the mosque for
25% more than what the Iman bought it for.

So we have all these jerks capitalizing on the a day where
we should remember victims and just maybe discuss peace
and tolerance but no, we get Donald Trump trying to do a
stupid deal publicly to enhance his bloated ego, Terry
Jones push his message of hate and really give the rest of
the world to think Americans are behind this moron and
Tomaidh inviting us to a forum to listen to conspiracy
garbage under the guise of revealing the TRUTH.

Let's say NO to all this garbage.

It's times like these that remind me there is a great deal to fear in our own back yard; and defining acts of terrorism for me include threats of mass book burnings and voices of hate against an entire population of people based on the acts of one or a few. It includes far more than the Muslim people and it never ends.

I am in shock when I see how many people accept and participate in these types of insults which equate to an utter disrespect against all humanity and all things humanitarian. I am as shocked when I see how many people believe the impossible. It literally makes me feel sick and I have been increasingly, truly depressed over these topics and others within a similar realm; (Obama is not an American; justification of the death penalty; the use of biblical "directives" as "truth"; the list is genuinely endless).

So, Tiny, my condolences to you and your family on the horrific manner in which you've lost your brother-in-law, which I feel is enough of a cross to bear without people so recklessly adding to that painful loss in the name of adding yet more insanity into the mix with endless theory, accusation, religion, patriotism, hate, sarcasm, blame, riot, murder and mayhem, headline opportunities and every other rotten thing these muslim hating, government hating, theory twisting, self-righteous intellectual wannabe opportunists can dream up.

When other people will, without a second thought, rob you and your family of what ought to be a nationwide, shared remembrance of those who suffered the dearest loss of all, they cannot possibly be considered human.

I appreciate your kind thoughts, as do the other hundreds
of thousands relatives, friends, lovers of victims who were
injured or die that terrible day.

I said what I did reluctantly as I didn't want to cheapen
the memory of Jim, but there many, many like me,
particularly in the northeast, who have one or two degrees
of separation between ourselves and victims of 9/11.

It disgusts me how this cycle of news today and this
weekend will have the cretins on 24/7. I say no to burning
Korans, watching all this nonsense on TV, attending truther
meetings and any other nonsense. How about we all take
a minute on Saturday to remmeber the friends and loved
ones we lost that day on 9/11.

Then we can get back to all the insanity on 9/12.

Recall that it was only several days after September 11, 2001, before the conservatives realized who the real culprits were, the dirty, f***in hippies:

If you're a truther, only a full and independent investigation will satisfy you.
If you beleive the gov't line, only a full and independent investigation will justify you.
    Where's the downside?
911 is the most important event in the 21st century.
We need absolute certainty about what happened and why.
We paid $400,000 for the 911 Commission Report, $40,000,000 to investigate Monica's blue dress.

Your facts are ridiculous, and I doubt all your questions will
    ever be satisfied.
    Unbelievable

I think the questions posed by 9-11 "truthers" have
already been debunked by independent experts, meaning
those who are not affiliated with the U.S. government or
who do not identify with "official" story. Nothing will
satisfy these so-called truthers. So be it.

Speaking for myself, I think the conclusions that 9-11
truthers pose are shameful and imbecilic. The 9-11 rubbish
they spout is nothing but a polemic suiting their rhetoric. I
feel like whenever they spout this garbage that they're
really trying to convince themselves that they're right.
This is a minority group engaging in a perpetual circle jerk.
Nothing angers me more than fringe lunatics bastardizing
the atrocities of this horrific event.

I have nothing more to say about this.

Today is the ninth memorial of the 9-11 atrocities. On September 20, 2001, Jon Stewart went back on "The Daily Show" and gave this extraordinary talk. The title above says it all for me. I hope this moves you as it moved me.
