Post Oil Solutions will continue to host its 2nd Wednesday of the month Community Conversations on Wedndesday, September 8, 7:00 PM, at the Elliot Street Cafe, on the corner of Elm and Elliot Streets in Brattleboro.

The facilitated, open agenda is framed around the question, How do we work together to make our communities healthier and more sustainable? It is our hope that, through these conversations, new initiatives will be launched that will help to make our communities stronger. Light refreshments will be provided.

After introductions, we have an extensive go-around in which everyone who cares to will have an opportunity to discuss their projects, interests they're pursuing, or ideas that they have about food, energy, transportation, health care, housing, the local economy and so forth. The second part of the evening is devoted to breakout groups, where people can gather either with a person involved with a particular project to explore it further and discover how they might become involved, or initiate their own discussion group. The evening concludes with time for networking.

September will feature a discussion with Jessica Tanner around local efforts to organize for the October 10 350.org work day for climate change, where groups of people all over the world will plan activities that will lead to reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. A small group of volunteers is planning an event for Brattleboro that will include permaculture gardening and compost demonstrations and bike and pedestrian friendly infrastructure display. More volunteers are needed to turn these ideas into a reality. In addition, Laura Brooks, the Coordinator for the Brattleboro Time Trade (www.brattleborotimetrade.org), will be present to report on their most recent Open House and Potluck at the new office on Grove Street. She will also discuss the BTT's current list of services offered and provide information about how to join.
