Unquestionably clumsy and a style lacking any grace whatsoever.

This is their ugliest one ever. Rolls Royce cars haven't always been
beautiful, but at least they've been elegant. Until they were bought by
BMW in 1999, anyway. The Phantom, introduced in 2003, and the
Ghost, 2010, are the first new models introduced under BMW's
ownership. The Ghost is slightly less awful.

I agree entirely, Maus. Surprisingly, though, the side view is not nearly as hideous as the front end. Still, not exactly what I would call pretty. But what you can't tell from my photos is how enormous these cars are : think Chevrolet Suburban and add another 10%. They weigh nearly 6000 pounds!

Yup. A formidable weapon in the front lines of the Class War.

This image is gross - in so many ways. The only thing that could be worse is a young child captured enoying a "Happy" meal on their birthday.

    blarp.

I love the fact that the car colors match the colors of the the building. I'm
not sure if it was the camera creating the complimentary colors, but it looks
like the building colors match. I did not notice that the car is a R.R. until I
read the comments. I did notice the empty parking lot, which is what I
thought the caption was leading too.
Great photo to contribute here at this site. Thank you for sharing this . I have
a feeling that there are very few if any people of Brattleboro to afford such a
car. Too many people of Brattleboro area can only afford a meal at
    McDonald's.

Thanx, MR, but any color matching is purely coincidental. It's only fair to say that there WERE other cars in the parking lot : I just cropped them out of the image for better composition. And it's not surprising that you didn't notice that it's a Roller. There is certainly a generic look about the front end. So many other manufacturers have been emulating that iconic grille for so long that the brand has lost it's unique identity.

P.S. Also note the lack of a Vermont license plate out front. While there surely are SOME Vermont residents who can afford a barge like this one, I suspect that these folks were just passing through our little town.

I saw the car arrive, and I was dumfounded. A family emerged and entered the restaurant. They were not speaking English, and appeared to be from India.

I worked with a woman 15 years ago who was from
Costa Rica. Her biggest thrill was eating at McD's
because in Costa Rica, only the wealthy families
could afford to eat there and as she put it ~ "I'm
finally able to eat at McDonalds!!"
One morning she arrived at work with a bag of
Dunkin Donuts.. our boss grabbed the bag from her,
threw it on the floor and stomped it flat yelling
"That's IT.. No more CRAP allowed.. that goes for
    McDonalds, too!!"
Eventually she came to realize why this food was
considered to be "bad" and back in Costa Rica sent
me a letter saying she no longer envied the people
who ate there... but wanted a Big Mac in the worst
way for months after returning home.. "I had a
dream that someone offered me a Big Mac.. and I
went to reach for it and found my arms were only
inches long... try as I might, I was not able to reach
    out to take it!

There is something addictive about that food, but sad story . I can't help feeling your Costa Rican friend was probably getting better nourishment from her native foods even if they were less seductive.

Who was that boss who stomped the donuts? What a bully!

Oh yes, our boss was more than just a bully - and I'd
name him but for the fact he killed himself within a
half year of the donut stomping episode; the person
least happy with a bully is the bully him/herself. I'm
happy only that he didn't shoot one of us first.

My friend has a job at an embassy in Costa Rica but
still can't afford McD's.. she says that parents & their
kids (who attend the private schools) are often seen
there - and otherwise those of upper Costa Rican
crust. Most cannot afford this American "luxury".

A friend in El Salvador told me that one dinner for a family
of four at Pizza Hut would use up their whole income for a
    WEEK.

I have to wonder if those quick to smear the car owner went
to SIT? It's a wonderful place to get acquainted with people
    from other cultures and countries.

Who's smearing anybody? It IS incongruous to see a Rolls in front of a McDonalds. Nothing wrong with it, though. And nothing wrong with speaking a language other than English either.
And, I did go to SIT (PIM 31).

Please give this VIP 1% patron some respect Macmingling with ordinary mass fast food consumers, I bet he supersized his tall order, maybe it was RR Ronald MacDonald paying a visit to one of his many fine Scottish restaurant franchises. But the car's color (less clownlike) is all wrong to make that assumption, watch your back for the Hamburgular he's riding shotgun with bags of money and inedible burgers!
