Downtown Brattleboro - a stroll down Main Street is a walk through history.
Retreat Meadows - there is a path located behind the Retreat that leads along toward Putney Road, but down near the water. The Retreat Meadows Walk, is an RSVP Walk of this area suggested by Spoon Agave.
Retreat Tower and Woodlands - numerous paths from numerous directions, this was the old stomping grounds for the Fresh Air kids from NYC. There used to be benches and gazebos about. A 2007 map can guide you.

Museums and Galleries
Gallery Walk - is held the first Friday of each month in downtown Brattleboro.
Brattleboro Museum and Art Center - downtown in the historic Union Station train station, near the Connecticut River. Art galleries and programs. http://www.brattleboromuseum.org
Estey Organ Museum - is a project to build a world-class museum in the original factory buildings on Birge Street in Brattleboro. Currently in the planning stages with a Preserve America grant, the museum has a temporary gallery open limited hours in the factory's Engine House. Brattleboro Historical Society- located in the Municpal Center, open Thursdays and Saturdays.
Beal House - in West Brattleboro, operated by the Brattleboro Historical Society.
Brooks Memorial Library - Fine Arts Collection, featuring sculpture (The Snow Angel; Spirit of Life); painting (The Prodigal Son) and artifacts (old maps of Brattleboro). Theaters and Entertainment
Latchis Theatre - with three screens, including Brattleboro's only big screen, plus two more intimate theatres, showing art and commercial films 52 weeks per year. Brattleboro Arts Inititiative (BAI) is also located here, to preserve the arts tradition in Brattleboro. Concerts, plays, readings, and other events also happen on their mainstage. Kipling Cinema 6- located on Putney Road, with six screens showing commercial films.

Farm Stands and Local Food
Brattleboro Area Farmer's Market - on Rt. 9 near Exit 2 off I-91. Held each Saturday during the growing season, with a mid-week version held Wednesday's in the Co-op parking lot.
Walker's Family Farm - a farm stand on Rt. 5 north of Brattleboro selling plants and food.
New Leaf CSA -
Fairwinds Farm - Run by Jay and Janet Bailey, this family farm is located on Upper Dummerston Road, across the street from the Brattleboro Country Club. They have ~300 laying hens, which produce eggs sold at the Brattleboro Food Co-op, at their farm and at Brattleboro Area Farmer's Market. Janet grows and sells perennials. Jay conducts the Brattleboro Draft Horse School, as written about in Vermont Life's Autumn 2005 issue. They have other livestock and also offer haywagon and sleigh rides through the woods surrounding their farm. http://www.fairwindsfarm.org

Miller Orchards
Deer Ridge Farm - Located on Hinesburg Road and run by Jerry Smith and Lisa Holderness, this small family farm produces bautiful wildflowers, raw honey and maple syrup. They sell their products at Brattleboro Area Farmer's Market and at their farmstand. Lisa runs Vermont Farm Camp, a summer day camp for children. http://www.deerridgefarmvt.com

Fulflex Field - soccer, frisbee, softball - (until 2006)
Swimming Holes - everyone wants to know where the best ones are. We can't tell you that, of course. We can tell you that there are popular places to jump in the West River if you drive up Rt. 30. Look for many cars parked in a tight group near the river. There are two or three spots before you reach the covered bridge to Dummerston.
