6:45pm- 7:15pm:  Update on The current status of Vermont Yankee in the Vermont Legislator. Deb Katz and Chris Williams will speak on the latest developments within the Statehouse concerning our efforts to stop the continued operation of VY past 2012. Amongst topic's they will cover will be, effectiveness of our organizing efforts to date,  the impact of the continuing radiological leaks, and the likelihood of a vote to close VY this session.

7:15pm-8pm: Orientation on Phone banking into swing districts: The vote upcoming on continued operation of VY remains very close. There are swing districts where uncommitted Legislators will be key in determining the outcome of this vote. We will be organizing phone banking into the Rutland, Bennington, and Windsor areas. During the past 2 years, CAN and Safe and Green have canvased in these places and  collected several hundred names of people who have committed themselves to call there legislators when the time is ripe. The time is now ripe, and we need volunteers to call 10 or twenty people in these voter districts.Bring a cell phone if you want to get started making calls.

Please RSVP to Bob Bady by email or phone by Monday February 8th.
