Ethereal Paper Opening

Date & Time:
Apr 22 2017 - 11:00am - 5:00pm

CYNTHIA-REEVES presents Ethereal Paper, featuring three artists who explore the structural possibilities of paper in sculptural and wall-based works. Each has taken this medium and re-worked it in unusual and thoughtful ways: teasing pattern out of surface fibers, creating vessel- like forms by dipping paper into a clay slip, and hand-cutting fine webs of beautifully dyed paper to create wall-based installations. Each distinct approach anticipates the role of light… in the voids, in the interstitial moments, in the shadows cast across the paper’s surface.
