Early Music with Night's Black Bird

At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, tri-state fans of Early Music are invited to a benefit concert of "Airs, Arias, Madrigals & Tonos" at All Souls Church Unitarian Universalist, 29 South St., West Brattleboro. Admission at the door is $15 per person and includes a gala reception; proceeds will help support ASC community-based programs and the Meeting House.... The Night's Black Bird trio, from Allentown, Penn., offers a program of 16th- and 17th-century songs by Giulio Caccini, Thomas Campion, John Dowland, José Marín, Claudio Monteverdi, and Philip Rosseter. Members of Night's Black Bird include Elizabeth Conner, bass viola da gamba, Ted Conner, lute and Baroque guitar, and Katherine Kaiser, voice; all have multiple academic credentials and experience in numerous performing groups. Ted Conner is Professor of Music at Muhlenburg College, director of its Collegium Musicum and Jazz Ensemble, and author of numerous articles on early music and a textbook on jazz theory and improvisation.... All Souls Church, which is handicap-accessible, is up a wooded drive across the road from the West Brattleboro fire station and village common.
