MediaWe have some really good stuff in b'media, and I'd like to alert those who haven't been paying attention recently. It's our local index to images, moves, podcasts, videos and other goodies made in and around Brattleboro.

Take a look to watch Kornguth's 3rd Annual Soap Box Derby, filmed one-handed, on a bike, in the rain! Check out some incredible views of Sicily, Go Skateboarding Day, BCTV summer video projects, and other videos.

Entergy Nuclear Ad Features Grafton Cheese Buildings?  View Printable Version
    Thursday, August 19 2010 @ 10:18 AM GMT+4
    Contributed by: cgrotke

MediaAn eagle-eyed iBrattleboro reader noticed an interesting backdrop in a recent Entergy television advertisement - Brattleboro's Retreat Farm, home of the Windham Foundation's Grafton Cheese factory.

The viewer writes: "...this ad came on channel 3 from Burlington. I wasn't paying much attention until I heard the guy say something about how people are comparing Vermont Yankee to a worn out Ford Escort or something to that effect and he's claiming nothing could be further from the truth and I was wondering if a Ford Escort can wear out, why can't VY? And then I said, wait a minute. That's not VY in the background. That place looks familiar."

Top Secret America - Haystacks in Vermont  View Printable Version
    Thursday, July 22 2010 @ 10:20 AM GMT+4
    Contributed by: cgrotke

    MediaVermont has 'em.

On South Hero Island there is a top secret government work location. Burlington has three top secret government operations going. Williston has two.

There are top secret locations in Northfield, and Rutland, too. Brattleboro doesn't show any.

This is all information revealed by the Washington Post in their series this week on Top Secret America. It's a look at the way top secret work has mushroomed since 9/11 and has created a very large world within the United States that not many people know about. It costs lots of money and isn't very efficient.
