    Another Brattleboro?  View Printable Version
    Wednesday, April 14 2010 @ 04:11 PM GMT+4

RumorsThere is another Brattleboro. Sort of. You could buy a house near Brattleboro (Arch) in Virginia.

Not far from the beach, either.

Soap Box Derby for Adults in Brattleboro ?  View Printable Version
    Thursday, April 01 2010 @ 02:21 PM GMT+4
    Contributed by: Anonymous

    RumorsHey,

I heard that someone is organizing a soap box derby, ( you know, races for go-carts that have no motors of any kind) for adults.

Supposedly its going to be in Brattleboro somewhere, this summer.

This seems like a great idea to me.

Quality/Red Roof/Ramada Changing Again?  View Printable Version
    Friday, January 15 2010 @ 11:36 PM GMT+4
    Contributed by: javanyet

RumorsI got several people checking in at the motel where I work, saying they had reservations at the Ramada that were canceled by the hotel. One gentleman said he was literally turned away at the desk (he had a guaranteed reservation and they are NEVER full) and told there is a "new owner/operator" and that they would not be able to rent rooms until at least Monday (1/18)!

Anybody know what's happening? Maybe they lost their Ramada franchise like all the others?

R&B Deli Is Not Closing  View Printable Version
    Thursday, November 26 2009 @ 09:44 PM GMT+4
    Contributed by: javanyet

RumorsWhile on my way to the Community Thanksgiving Dinner today I saw a notice posted in the window of R&B Deli. It stated that R&B is NOT going to be closing in Sept 2010 and in fact has no plans to close at all, at any time.

And judging from the wording it's apparent the owner is not happy that someone posted a "closing" rumor about R&B on iBrat.

Frankie's Pizza Looking For New Space  View Printable Version
    Saturday, November 07 2009 @ 10:20 PM GMT+4
    Contributed by: javanyet

RumorsI just ran into Frankie & his wife Linda downtown and they told me they have been forced to CLOSE at their current location in the Harmony Lot. Landlord raised the rent so high and attached so many added expenses to the new lease (including fixing the roof!) that they cannot afford to stay there. Tell me how many tenants are required to fix the roof on their landlord's property ??

Serious Theft of Stones from Around Town  View Printable Version
    Sunday, October 25 2009 @ 04:04 PM GMT+4

RumorsThe area around Western Avenue especially has had people stealing many many stones from established stone walls on private property and town walls. A landscape firm truck has been seen around many of the thefts, and it is believed that they are stealing them to resell to people on jobs without having to buy them themselves from quarries etc.

Haunted Places Near Brattleboro  View Printable Version
    Friday, October 16 2009 @ 12:33 PM GMT+4
    Contributed by: Brady

RumorsI made this video for our blog and our guests (and potential guests) with the "haunted" sites I could find online, but I was hoping that some of you could help suggest other "haunted" or "spooky" sites near Brattleboro?

We are trying to put together a "haunted guide" for Halloween, which is typically a slow time for us and we would like to bring some more traffic to the inn and Brattleboro.

So other than those in the video, are there any other sites we can check out or share for Halloween?

    (video below)

Who's Going to Run for the State Senate?  View Printable Version
    Tuesday, October 06 2009 @ 10:50 AM GMT+4
    Contributed by: Anonymous

RumorsWith Peter Shumlin thinking of running for Governor, I was wondering if people knew who may go for his seat?

I've heard only a few names mentioned and they are Gordon Bristol of Wilmington, Scott McCarty of Brattleboro and Tobie Young of Westminster.

Has anyone heard any other names to add to this list? It's a year away but I would be interested to know. Do share.

Monsters On the Loose Near the Juice  View Printable Version
    Monday, September 28 2009 @ 11:40 AM GMT+4
    Contributed by: cgrotke

RumorsWhile picking up some groceries the other day I was shocked and horrified to find myself confronted by two small monsters roaming the store.

When I first spotted them, they were near the Halloween candy, but they began following me and saying strange, monster phrases, such as "Trick or Treat." They were unchained.

I politely explained that Halloween was the day monsters could say that and expect humans to hand over candy, but the rest of the year it was the other way around. Humans got to say "trick or treat" to monsters and monsters had to give humans their candy.

Brattleboro Monorail Authority Changes Track  View Printable Version
    Wednesday, July 22 2009 @ 01:16 PM GMT+4
    Contributed by: cgrotke

RumorsThe fictional Brattleboro Monorail Authority may be altering plans for local monorail development. Rather than use renewable energy to power the cars, the new design may use pedal-powered aerodynamic capsules.

At speeds up to 56 mph, the Brattleboro Pedal Monorail System could efficiently transport residents around the area on a network of monorail tracks.
