The most influential (recent) President of the US is/was

And, for extra credit

Please add your reasons when you vote...

Bush II

I put Bush II at the top of my list. It wasn't so much him, but his administration that, I think, did the most dramatic changes to the country in my lifetime. One small example - we never used the word "homeland" before Bush/Cheney came to town. They took away rights, ramped up spying on everyone, started personal wars, redirected enormous sums to friends, etc.

Still curious

Anyone care to offer up their reasons?

I vote "Other"

In my opinion, Israel, through its American Israel Public Affairs Committee, AIPAC, (sometimes called the Zionist lobby)......is more influential than any of the above listed POTUS. It is the largest & most powerful lobbying group in Washington. Since the Citizens United Case in the Supreme Court that basically said there now can be unlimited campaign donations, Presidents, Senators & Congresspeople fall all over themselves to get AIPAC's stamp of approval ,which includes enormous amounts of $$ for their campaigns, and woe to those that would be critical of Israel.
