How many hard working people in Vermont will be laid off from their jobs November 1st because the Democrats won’t vote in favor of a Bill in the U.S. Congress that continues food stamps SNAP program benefits for the poor, but raises insurance premiums for middle class people? It’s not just people who work inside grocery stores and big box stores, truck drivers are also at risk.
Middle class people funded the Democrats political campaigns, and convinced the poor who could not contribute to funding them, to vote for them. Over 40 million people nationwide are losing their food stamps SNAP program benefits so they will be unlikely to vote for Democrats in 2026. The Democrats just chopped off their own political heads for Thanksgiving.
Here is a picture of my last grocery delivery today. I am an arthritic 73 year old Vermont food stamp recipient, but will no longer be on November 1st, 2025 if the Democrats refuse to vote in favor of the spending bill in the U.S. Congress that pays for SNAP benefits.

The SNAP program has emergency funding for this type of situation.
The Trump administration has said they won’t use the USDA Emergency Funding to pay for it, though. This is even though they are supposed to do it according to, you know, laws.
If you want SNAP benefits, call the White House and tell them to release the authorized funds so people don’t starve.
If you want your health care and snap benefits to go away, fight the Democrats.

Dear President Trump, Please ask the U.S. Congress House and Senate Republicans to
convene in session to write and pass a one page Bill to fund SNAP food
stamps & WIC program benefits by enacting an immediate
requirement that all corporations which receive subsidies shall pay a percent percent of their earnings made with federal subsidies to fund the benefits entirely. This is not a tax because it would only be imposed on corporations which receive subsidies, it is not interest on a loan. This would be a mandatory quarterly payment because taxpayers deserve a return on our investment. Cris Ericson

“Abdicating” means to formally give up a throne, power, or responsibility. It can also refer to failing to fulfill a duty or obligation, such as a government or company abdicating its responsibility to its citizens or users.
Next time someone asks me to call the White House, check first and see if they will answer the phone!
