Booking agent/band manager wanted for two exciting but unsigned bands: a 12-piece ensemble combining jazz with traditional Puerto Rican drumming and dancing; and a sextet playing Caribbean and Middle Eastern-influenced original jazz. We’re based in Brattleboro VT/Springfield MA and tour regionally. As a combination agent/manager you will identify likely gig prospects, contact and negotiate with venues, look for workshop and teaching opportunities, apply to booking conferences, identify and contact possible booking agencies and record labels, and coordinate with the bandleader regarding promotion, social media, and budgets. You: reliable, personable, organized, self-starting. You should have an understanding of the music business, and preferably contacts in the jazz world. You should know jazz and be able to explain these two unusual but intriguing bands to potential venues. Hours: 6 to 10 per week. Pay: retainer fee or hourly (let’s discuss) plus percentage of gigs booked.
