Movement To Prevent Re-Election of Bailiffs

Event date: Apr 17, 1896

Within the past week it has come to be well understood that a movement is on foot to prevent the reelection of the present board of bailiffs and put a new board in their place at the annual meeting in May. Whatever reason for this movement may be alleged, it is well known that the real reason is the action of the board in enforcing the liquor law, and insisting on the arrest of persons drunk and disorderly.
