Fables Storytelling at Next Stage Cafe

September 12, 2018 7:00 pm

Next Stage Arts Project presents “Fables Storytelling” hosted by Peter “Fish” Case in the new Next Stage Café on Wednesday, September 12 at 7:00 pm. This evening of storytelling is part of a series that continues on the second Wednesday of each month with host/curator Fish and a variety of guest storytellers. Admission is by donation.

The theme of this September event is stories about challenging mortality.

Next Stage Café is a new venue in the first floor community room of Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in downtown Putney.   Smaller than the main Next Stage theater, this intimate space offers cabaret style seating, a beer and wine cash bar, homemade pizza, popcorn and snacks. Next Stage Arts Project will present new and emerging artists, as well as literary, open stage and family events, in the café.

For more information about “Fables Storytelling,” visit nextstagearts.org or email nextstagearts@gmail.com or peter@plusnine.net. If you are interested in telling your own story, please fill out this simple form on the Next Stage website. Each story should be approximately 15 minutes in length. The story must be your own. Each themed “Fables” session will feature no more than four storytellers, and the November, 2018 event will be held in the main theater as a story slam to celebrate “Fables” 6th month.

Next Stage Arts Project, winner of a National Endowment for the Arts and ArtPlace America grants, is a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing Putney’s cultural and economic village center through the programming, development and operation of Next Stage. The newly renovated performance space at 15 Kimball Hill is now accessible, comfortable and air-conditioned, with a great dance floor.
