The Hard Bop era of Jazz planted many seeds that would influence the growth of Jazz from what it was to what it is today.

We also start to see more and more artists taking a stand, be it for their artistic creativity or for social justice.

During this course we will explore from the Hard Bop era to the Present Day.

During this study we will examine the role that Jazz as a music and culture played to give voice to protests and social justice as well as explore how others from around the world have mixed their native cultures with Jazz to produce a type of Jazz that is both American as well as Foreign in its roots.

Work exchange opportunities are available. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
