Old Ways Herbal School of Plant Medicine

569 Dover Rd, Newfane

Come get your hands dirty in this season-long garden adventure. This course digs deep into principles and techniques of growing and harvesting medicinal herbs in the vegetable garden. Hone your skills to coax medicinal plants into being, while protecting veggies from insects and increasing yields.

Topics include: garden planning, starting seeds, planting & transplanting, harvest, rotation, companion planting, microclimate, pollinators, pest control, forest gardens & food forests, bioremediation, season extension, soil, water, and more.

This is a participatory course: plant walks, group harvesting, & hands-on practice form the core of this course.

Participants take home herbs harvested in class, as well as plants and seeds, and clear written information on the recipes, guiding principles, and uses of herbs discussed.

This course is appropriate for all levels of gardeners, in bud and in bloom. Join us on the farm!

This course meets one Sunday a month from May through September in our gardens and fields. First class May 27.
