Preparation is the Key to Success

Preparation is the theme for the upcoming meeting of BrattleMasters. The local Toastmasters club meets twice monthly on the second and fourth Thursdays in Brattleboro at Vermont Technical College, Room 245, 41 Harmony Place, Brattleboro.

The public is invited to listen to a variety of speeches. One will have to do with the societal impact of forest fires on Mount Monadnock in New Hampshire. Another is titled, “Uniting the World by Understanding Language.”

In addition to speeches and evaluations, Toastmaster members will give reports on the use of ahs, ums and other filler words, grammar, keeping within time limits, and other aspects of the meeting. A topics master will run a short extemporaneous speaking exercise. Free refreshments will be provided during a break in the 90-minute meeting.
