Rigged: A Voter Suppression Panel

Next Stage Arts Project produces a panel discussion about voter rights and voter suppression on Wednesday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m., co-presented by The Vermont League of Women Voters, Vermont ACLU, VPIRG the Jonathan Daniels Center for Social Responsibility, and Disability Rights Vermont. The event will be live streamed over Brattleboro’s Community Television (BCTV) YouTube Live, featuring panelists working in the field of voter rights and equity, discussing statewide and national efforts to combat voter suppression.
Panelists include:
• Jim Condos – Vermont Secretary of State
• Brianna Cea – CEO/Co-Founder of Generation Vote & Research and Program associate at the Brennan Center for Justice
• Paul Burns – VPIRG Executive Director
• Falko Schilling – ACLU Vermont Advocacy Director
• Tim Smith – Executive Producer of “Rigged: The Voter Suppression Playbook”
Leading up to the panel, all of the co-presenting organizations will be promoting the full, online, free version of the documentary film “Rigged: The Voter Suppression Playbook.” The film explores the effects of new election restrictions that have emerged in legislatures across the country since the 2008 presidential election, which saw the most diverse electorate in American history.
