Strategies for Jewelry Design Workshop begins at Borter’s Jewelry Studio

This class is made up of four sessions: 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 24, 14, 19 and 21. It is intended for students with some previous metalsmithing experience, and we will explore the process of designing a small body of original work. Students will experiment with various methods of design, including sketching and model making to generate a thorough plan of construction and develop a solid practice of critical thinking with consideration of materials, tools, technique, and basic metalsmithing principles.
Unlike other classes, the object will not be to complete a piece of jewelry designed by the instructors. Instead, you will leave with a step-by-step plan to execute your jewelry design in your own time.
Cost for the four-day workshop is $400 and includes materials.
