Woodworking Level 2 for Women+

September 17, 2024 5:00 pm

HatchSpace

22 High Street Brattleboro

Prerequisites: Woodworking 1
This 12-session introductory class is for anyone who has previously taken Woodworking 1 and who can independently operate most woodworking machines. Designed to empower and build community among diverse beginner woodworkers, this class is open to women, transgender, and non-binary people.

Learn. Building on the skills you’ve learned in Woodworking 1, this class will focus on a challenging cabinet project with many components. Students will choose between two design options and will prepare a stock-list for their project. Topics covered include casework construction, box joints, domino joints, door making, drawer making, pull making, attaching hardware, and hanging a wall cabinet.

Make. You’ll make a hanging wall cabinet with box joints, a frame & panel door, a drawer, two pulls and a French cleat.

Get Certified. This class will give you independent experience on some of our major woodworking machines (table saw, jointer, planer, routers, drill press, etc) and will help you build confidence & prepare for our certification tests. To use these machines independently outside of class, you must be a member and pass one or more certification tests.
