A chance for young people to come together, learn about the pieces of the jazz puzzle, play melodies and improvise.
The class will be held online this semester. We will be using backing tracks, lead sheets and accompaniments sent out by the instructor.
Each participant will get a chance to play along with the backing track and receive encouragement and comments.
Repertoire will be simple yet fun tunes from jazz legends like Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock. Final project will be a video of everyone playing and soloing over a chosen tune.
Work exchange opportunities are available. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
