We seek spoken word and slam poets\, hip hop\, rap artists\, Beat-inspired\, and experimental poets who feature themes of activism\, culture\, identity\, and resistance.\r \n \r \n As part of a four-weekend celebration of poetry across traditions and generations\, Tiny Theater is placing a special spotlight on the living\, evolving voice of contemporary poetry—where rhythm\, performance\, and personal expression meet. Organizers are calling on artists whose work engages audiences through powerful delivery\, social commentary\, storytelling\, and musicality.\r \n  \r \n This portion of the series will highlight poetry as it exists today: urgent\, immediate\, and deeply connected to issues of identity\, justice\, culture\, and community. Performers working in slam\, open mic\, rap/hip-hop\, experimental\, and performance poetry styles are encouraged to perform. \r \n  \r \n Selected artists will perform as part of an evening dedicated to contemporary voices\, alongside the Tiny Theater Acting Ensemble and special guests.
