SUMMARY:Hands Off Our Mother\; BYO Picnic for Mothers Day and Mother Earth
DESCRIPTION:Hands Off Our Mother: Let's gather as neighbors in honor of Mother Earth and Mothers Day\, with a BYO picnic\, music and info-sharing. \r \n Where:  Brattleboro Common\r \n When: Saturday\, May 10\, 11 am to 1 pm\r \n As area engagement grows around the devastation imposed on Americans and the environment by the current administration\, Brattleboro area locals will picnic together on May 10\, the day before Mothers Day\, to compare notes and enjoy live music. The 2 most recent rallies\, which attracted 500 and 1500\, demonstrated the continuing need for people to get together\, converse and talk about steps forward. Indivisible Brattleboro and Brattleboro Area Action are co-hosting this event.\r \n Though the current administration may seem to ignore it\, the fact that such numbers are stepping up here in Brattleboro and across the state\, as well as the growing millions across the country\, has an effect. Everyone across the political spectrum in the U.S. is now affected in at least one way by unconstitutional budget cuts\, policies and destruction of federal agencies. Mothers\, children\, families\, veterans and seniors nationwide are harmed by the reduction of basic needs such as medical care and food security\; the rights of immigrants\, asylum seekers\, and the care of the environment are negatively impacted. Racial justice\, reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights are under attack.\r \n We are ALL in this TOGETHER: we invite you to come connect with your larger community on the Common: bring your ideas\, lunch\, and lawn chairs. We’ll enjoy music by local artists and a sing-along.\r \n Co-hosted by Indivisible Brattleboro and Brattleboro Area Action\, this partnership is bound by a shared commitment to nonviolence\, inclusion\, and democratic participation. For more info\, email indibrattleboro@gmail.com\r \n \r \n &nbsp\;\r \n \r \n &nbsp\;
