The work of new roofing the town hall building is now in progress. The slate are being removed, a double thickness of rosined paper laid on the rough boarding, and the slate then replaced, laid one-third less than formerly “to the weather.” Mr. Ryan, who has the job in charge, says this is sure to make a water-proof roof, good for a hundred years.
