Village Meeting To Decide On Gas Street Lights

Event date: Jun 4, 1859

Our village readers will observe the warrant for a village meeting next week to decide upon the matter of lighting the streets with gas. It would seem to us that three or four lights on Main street would be of advantage to all who have business on our street evenings, and to travelers. One near the bridge, another at the corner of Main and Elliot streets, a third at the corner of Main and High streets, and a fourth could be advantageously located near where the statue stands.
