Once a month Sundays, December 2025–February 2026
Join Southern Vermont for Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace VT/NH for the remainder of our political education workshop series, running once a month from December 2025 through February 2026. These workshops will be a space to collectively deepen our analysis of the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people and continued destruction of their land. These workshops are for you if you are looking to connect how Palestinian Liberation is tied up with the fight against fascism here in US.
Join us for one or all three! We will have both in-person and live-streaming available.
In-person locations and livestream links will be near downtown Brattleboro and shared after registration.
All workshops will be mask-mandatory for in-person participants.

About the workshop: The history of settler colonialism is deeply entangled with the roots of fascism. In both the US and Israel, this connection is rooted in the shared ideologies of racial supremacy, the violent dispossession of Indigenous peoples, and the insatiable desire for land and expansion. This teach-in focuses on getting to the roots of fascism through the context of the Palestinian liberation movement. We will explore the history of settler colonialism and the roots of fascism in the US and Palestine. We ask ourselves: how can we resist on stolen land?

And the Infrastructure of Fascism

About the workshop: Panelists Omar Zahzah and Mica will introduce the growing problem of Big Tech’s entanglement with fascist/authoritarian governments, particularly in the U.S. and Israel. We will start with a broad overview of the current events and consequences of this collusion, especially as it relates to the surveillance and persecution of activists working for Palestinian liberation. What are the ultimate goals of these techno-fascist players? What tools do they use to spy on and censor us? How does AI fit into this picture? And what can precautions can we take to protect ourselves and our communities as we take action both online and in the streets?
OMAR ZAHZAH is a writer, poet, organizer of Lebanese Palestinian descent, and Assistant Professor of Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diasporas (AMED) Studies at San Francisco State University. Omar has covered digital repression in relation to Palestine as a freelance journalist since May 2021, with work appearing in such outlets as Al Jazeera, Middle East Eye, Electronic Intifada, Mondoweiss, CounterPunch, and more. Omar holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from UCLA. His latest book is Terms of Servitude: Zionism, Silicon Valley, and Digital Settler Colonialism in the Palestinian Liberation Struggle, published by Seven Stories Press Sept. 2025.
MICA is a community organizer in central VT concerned about digital security and privacy, surveillance capitalism, and the rise of techno-fascism in the U.S. and beyond. They teach workshops on the political and practical aspects of these issues, and volunteer with the Privacy Possums, a collective that helps individuals improve privacy and security protocols on their devices.

About the workshop: Is fear of antisemitism just a right-wing ploy to cover up Israeli apartheid & genocide? Join JVP to learn about how Zionism co-opted the idea of antisemitism, and how that co-optation also distracts us from a very real antisemitism that movements for liberation need to understand and take seriously. Learn concrete strategies for including real antisemitism in our analyses, opening wider space for Jews in the movement without ceding an inch to Zionism.
