Open District 8 Discussion

Starts in 50 Minutes

February 21, 2026 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

District 8* Meeting Gathering

All Brattleboro residents of District 8 * are welcome and invited to meet for this gathering

Saturday, February 21st, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Quiet Reading Room (Room D) on the mezzanine at Brooks Memorial Library.

There is so much going on ….

On March 3:

– Town Meeting Day elections (Selectboard, RTM members, and other officers and WSESD School Board) – see sample ballots here: https://brattleboro.gov/sample-ballots

– Should Brattleboro discontinue Representative Town Meeting and, if so, replace it with an Australian ballot or Open Town Meeting?

And then, there is the Town Budget & Human Services funding to be decided at a Town Meeting (if the Australian ballot question passes, it cannot go into operation until the Legislature gives its approval)

…. We likely will not be able to discuss everything; however, this may be a good meeting to find pointers for homework before we need to make those decisions.

We will have keynote speakers discussing:

1. Nell Mayo- Finance Committee-( Selectboard runner for 2-year seat )

2. Isaac Evans-Frantz- ( Current Selectboard Member)-runner for 2-year seat )

3. David Miner- Human Services Committee

4. Gemma Seymour – current RTM District 8 Representative
