The South Newfane Community Association (SNCA) hosts Williamsville-based music duo Bard Owl for a concert and raptor food drive to benefit Fred Homer’s raptor rescue work.

Organizer and president of the SNCA, Maia Segura, says “Our neighbor Fred Homer–of Williamsville– has been certified to rescue raptors for 40 years – rehabbing hawks with broken wings, feeding fledglings separated from their flocks, caring for a beautiful blind-in-one eye barred owl named Stella.” Having previously financed the effort himself,  Homer is now faced, due to new regulations, “with paying $.80 per mouse to nourish the birds, and it adds up fast,” Segura adds.

Suggested donation is $10 per person: All proceeds go directly to support Homer’s raptor rescue. Attendees are also welcome to bring  captured, NON-POISONED, frozen rodents to the show where a cooler will be waiting.  Nibbles served; BYOB.
