The Brattleboro Selectboard will be working on the budget at their next regular meeting. The Police and Fire departments are scheduled to present their FY27 requests. The Town will also adopt a new solid waste contract and program, raising your PAYT bag prices and having DPW expand to pick up compost.
The board will also discuss trespass warnings and fireworks, and you can bring up other items not on the agenda during public participation.

The Brattleboro Selectboard will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, November18, 2025 at 6:15pm in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the Brattleboro Municipal Center (230 Main Street, Room 212) and over Zoom. Prior to the meeting, the Board will meet at 5:15pm and is expected to enter immediately into executive session to discuss labor negotiations with employees. The attached agenda contains information on how to access the meeting remotely, including the required “passcode.” Closed captioning will be available for deaf and hard-of-hearing community members. The backup materials for this meeting will be available on the town Website by the end of the day.

Bittersweet Lane and Wickapee Hill Schedule Site Visits and Public Hearings
In a memorandum dated October 28, 2025 Assistant Town Clerk Jane Fletcher discusses the First and Third Class Liquor License and Outside Consumption Permit applications for Marigold LLC, located at 157 Main Street. Town staff have reviewed and recommend approval of this item. Representatives from Marigold will be in the meeting to answer any questions should this be pulled from Consent. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will approve a First and Third Class Liquor License and Outside Consumption Permit for Marigold LLC, located at 157 Main Street.
In a memorandum dated November 7, 2025 DPW Director Dan Tyler discusses the site visit and public hearings for Bittersweet Lane to become a Class 3 Town Highway. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will lay out Bittersweet Lane from the intersection of East Orchard Street to its terminus as a Class 3 Town Highway; and schedule a site visit on January 20, 2025 at 3:00 pm and a public hearing at a meeting to be convened at 6:15pm in the Selectboard Meeting Room after conclusion of the site visit.
In a memorandum dated November 7, 2025 DPW Director Dan Tyler discusses the site visit and public hearing to reclassify a section of TH-20 as a Class IV Highway. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will reclassify a 0.17 mile section of TH-20 from class III to Class IV; and schedule a site visit on January 20, 2025 at 3:45 pm with a public hearing to follow thereafter after conclusion of the site visit at the Selectboard meeting room in a meeting to be convened at 6:15 pm.

In a memorandum dated November 18, 2025, Public Works Assistant Director Pete Lynch discusses a potential Solid Waste Program and Casella Contract.
POTENTIAL MOTION(S):
APPROVE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A SOLID WASTE SYSTEM, AS PRESENTED,
INCLUDING PAY AS YOU THROW CURBSIDE TRASH COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL,
AUTOMATED CURBSIDE PICK UP AND PROCESSING OF RECYCLING, AND
CURBSIDE PICK UP AND DISPOSAL OF COMPOST.
APPROVE A FORTY-TWO-MONTH CONTRACT WITH CASELLA FOR THE CURBSIDE
COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF TRASH AND RECYCLING, WITH AN ESTIMATED
$1,025,529 EXPENDITURE IN YEAR ONE AND A 4.5% YEARLY INCREASE TO EACH OF
THE STREAMS.
APPROVE AN INCREASE TO PAY AS YOU THROW BAG FEES FROM $2.00 TO $4.50
FOR YELLOW BAGS, AND $3.00 TO $6.75 FOR PURPLE BAGS WITH THE TRANSITION
