On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Central Street will be closed between Washington Street and Highland Street while the Utilities Division makes repairs to a sewer service. The work will take place in the area of 81 Central Street between 7:00am and 3:00pm. Residents will have access to their homes from either side of this closure.
Motorists should plan alternative routes during this time.
The Town of Brattleboro has hired Indus, a private contractor, to complete crack sealing work on various road surfaces throughout town. Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 27, 2025, and will continue through the week, weather permitting.
To allow crews to safely and efficiently complete the work:
Parking will not be permitted on the affected streets between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Motorists should expect travel restrictions and delays around active work zones.
On Tuesday, May 14 the Utilities Division will be replacing a water valve in front of 136 Prospect Street. The road will be closed between Washington Street and Central Street during this work. Crews will begin at 7:00am and the project is anticipated to be completed by 3:00pm. Accommodations for access by residents of Prospect Street will be made available.
Due to tree work which will be done on Prospect Street between Central Street and Pearl Street on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 (Rain Date May 5) parts of Prospect Street will be closed to traffic from 8:00am to 3:30pm.
Monday, July 19th, D.M.I. Paving (a contractor of the town) will be starting our summer paving project. Cold Planning and paving operations will be taking place on Highland ST, Central ST, Pearl ST, Thomas ST, Pellet ST, Blakeslee ST and White Birch AVE. Weather permitting, work is expected to happen between 7 am and 5 pm, Monday thru Friday. On street parking will not be permitted during work hours. The project is expected to take approximately two weeks.
Utilities Crews will be working to repair a sewer line on Highland ST between the intersection with Washington ST and 109 Highland ST. The road will be closed beginning at 7:00 am on Wednesday, June 9 and remain closed overnight and will reopen at around 5:00pm on Thursday, June 10. Access to all addresses on Highland ST will be via Central ST.
