Center for Solace invites the community to Dance for Solace, its seasonal early evening dance party fundraiser, ushering in the summer with a sun-soaked twist: Beach Party Beats. Join us on Thursday, June 11, from 6:00–8:00 pm at Saxtons Distillery (155 Chickering Drive, Brattleboro) and dance your way into summer.
Bring in summer. Move your body. Be home by 9.
This summer edition brings the beach to Brattleboro. DJ Mālama returns to the decks with a sun-soaked set spanning reggae, ska, the Beach Boys, and all manner of lively, feel-good music guaranteed to keep the floor moving and the spirits soaring. Shake off whatever is weighing on you in a joyful space.
The dance floor is open to everyone and intentionally centers women, queer, trans, and nonbinary community members — because everyone deserves a place to exhale, move, and feel strong.
Want to dress the part? Center for Solace’s beloved thrift store, Experienced Goods, will feature a special rack of beach party threads for those who want to get into the spirit — the perfect excuse to find your summer look before the party.
Admission is $15–$40 at the door, with all proceeds benefiting Center for Solace’s many free programs. A cash bar will be available.
The mission of Center for Solace is to offer services and support — free of charge — for serious illness, hospice, and grief, while engaging our community in conversations about mortality and life. In every season, the organization believes in creating spaces for both reflection and joy.
