Putney’s Twilight Music series continues its tradition of intimate, listening-room concerts with a standout Singer/Songwriter Showcase on Friday, March 20, at Next Stage Arts. The evening opens with a special in-the-round set from Early Risers, Jake Klar, and Lizzy Mandell, before culminating in Andrea von Kampen’s debut performance at the venue.
Doors open at 6:45 pm, with music beginning at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door, or $10 for the livestream, available at nextstagearts.org.
The opening set brings three distinct voices together in a collaborative circle. Early Risers—known for their close harmonies and roots-rich arrangements featuring banjo, mandolin, piano, guitar, and shruti box—reunited in 2015 after solo careers and quickly found national traction. Their debut album, Making Life Sweet, topped the Folk DJ Charts, with multiple tracks landing in the top ten.
Jake Klar adds a modern Americana edge, blending groove-forward rhythms with folk storytelling and pop and rock influences, crafting songs that feel both immediate and enduring.
Lizzy Mandell rounds out the circle with a deep Vermont pedigree, following her award-winning Made for Flying with To the Moon (2025), a collaborative release with producer and multi-instrumentalist Colin McCaffrey.
Headliner Andrea von Kampen closes the night, bringing her thoughtful, Plains-born songwriting and luminous melodies to Putney for the first time. With three studio albums, international headlining tours, and more than 55 million Spotify streams, von Kampen has built a devoted global audience. Her work extends beyond music: in 2022 she starred in—and created the soundtrack for—the independent film A Chance Encounter. This fall, she will release a protest EP addressing resurgent hateful rhetoric in American politics and calling for justice and solidarity.
With its blend of collaboration and solo artistry, Twilight Music’s March showcase promises a warm, resonant night of stories and songs—best experienced up close in Next Stage Arts’ intimate setting.
