Actors Theatre Playhouse

21 Main Street, West Chesterfield, NH

Actors Theatre Playhouse will stage Eric Ulloa’s acclaimed docudrama 26 Pebbles for three weekends this August. The production offers an unflinching yet ultimately hopeful portrait of Newtown, Connecticut, in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.

Based on extensive interviews with real residents—including parents, teachers, first responders, and community leaders—Ulloa’s verbatim theater piece channels the raw voices of a town grappling with unimaginable loss, capturing the grief, anger, confusion, and the slow, stubborn emergence of healing.

The title references the twenty-six lives taken in the tragedy, each one a pebble dropped into the water of humanity, sending ripples through a community forever changed.

Director Bob Kramsky leads a cast of six actors portraying Newtown’s diverse voices: Catherine Verow, Rob Gray, Ian Hefele, Ann Linge, Bridget McBride, and Shafiya Finger. Brenda Seitz stage manages.

26 Pebbles will run for three weekends: August 7, 8, 9, August 14, 15, 16, and August 20, 21, 22. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 PM; Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.

ATP’s intimate venue has limited seating. Advance reservations are strongly recommended at atplayhouse.org.
