Tiny Theater is seeking dynamic performers for its upcoming National Poetry Month Reading and Performance Series, inviting slam poets, spoken word artists, hip-hop lyricists, and contemporary poetry performers to take the stage this April 17th-19th
CALL FOR PERFORMERS Tiny Theater invites poets and performers to participate in this celebration. We seek spoken word and slam poets, hip hop, rap artists, Beat-inspired, and experimental poets who feature themes of activism, culture, identity, and resistance.
As part of a four-weekend celebration of poetry across traditions and generations, Tiny Theater is placing a special spotlight on the living, evolving voice of contemporary poetry—where rhythm, performance, and personal expression meet. Organizers are calling on artists whose work engages audiences through powerful delivery, social commentary, storytelling, and musicality.
This portion of the series will highlight poetry as it exists today: urgent, immediate, and deeply connected to issues of identity, justice, culture, and community. Performers working in slam, open mic, rap/hip-hop, experimental, and performance poetry styles are encouraged to perform.
Selected artists will perform as part of an evening dedicated to contemporary voices, alongside the Tiny Theater Acting Ensemble and special guests. The event aims to create an inclusive, high-energy space where both emerging and established performers can share their work.

Tiny Theater is proud to announce the premiere of Voices From the Stage, a landmark theatrical slam performance bringing the most celebrated monologues in the dramatic canon to life through live performance. Tiny Theater Actors ensemble is launching an evening of tragedy, defiance, and raw human revelation drawn from the works of Shakespeare, Miller, Ibsen, Beckett, O’Neill, and more by the trained and talented actors of Tiny Theater.
“The theatrical monologue is the purest act of performance — one body, one voice, one truth against the silence. Voices From the Stage places that truth in the most intimate stage.
— Bob Marcus
Voices From the Stage is one night performance in which actors perform monologues of tragedy and consequence, defiance and power, the fractured modern self, wit and comedy, desire, love and loss, and the human condition, from the most celebrated playwrights and characters.
The evening runs approximately 120 minutes and includes a post-performance discussion with the performers and our neighbors.
