The table saw is a versatile and powerful tool, used for ripping, cross-cutting, making angled cuts in wood, cutting joinery elements, and more. This is the first part in a 3-part series learning how to safely and confidently use this essential woodshop machine.

Learn. Topics covered in this introductory session are:

  • Machine anatomy and typical set-ups for basic use
  • Basic operations including ripping, cross-cutting and making angled cuts
  • Developing safe habits and “muscle memory” while using the table saw
  • Table saw options on the market and their pros and cons
  • Lots of hands-on practice

Get Certified. This class will cover the safe operation of the table saw, including helping prepare you for our certification test. To use the table saw machines at HatchSpace independently, you must be a member and pass our certification test.
