The third installment of the 2017 Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes will be due on February 15th, 2018. Payments made after February 15th, 2018 will have an additional 1% interest added to the unpaid balance.

Selectboard Meeting Notes – 2013 Grant Pays Off, Brattleboro Awarded Over $2.36 Million
The Brattleboro Selectboard held a mostly happy meeting Tuesday night. Most seemed happy that their budget meetings were behind them, John Allen was happy he only had a few meetings left on the board, and all were very happy by somewhat surprising news of a very large grant to help pay for the waste water treatment plant.

The Brattleboro Selectboard will talk about bridges at their first regular meeting in February. A state inspection shows some work needs to be done on the bridge near the Co-op.

Selectboard Meeting Notes: FY19 Budget Finale – Tax Increase of 3.6 Cents
At their special meeting Tuesday night, the Brattleboro Selectboard finalized the FY19 budget. They agreed on the amount of fund balance to tap, set a final property tax rate, and reviewed draft warnings for Town Meeting on March 6 and Representative Town Meeting on March 24.

Selectboard Meeting Notes – The Passing of Timothy O’Connor
Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Selectboard began on a rather sad note, with John Allen explaining that Tim O’Connor had passed away earlier in the day.
With both Kate O’Connor and Tim Wessel absent for family matters, the small board raced through their agenda and ending before 7 pm.

Call To Action: WSESU Proposes To Eliminate Diversity Director Position
At a time when the Windham Southeast Supervisory Union grows more diverse in its student population and educators clamor for tools to engender relevant cultural inclusion and equity, the WSESU School Board has proposed to cut Mikeala Simm’s position as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice. The proposal to cut her position was just announced today before the upcoming board meeting tonight. Let come out in force this evening at the Windham Regional Career Center Conference room at 6:30 p.m.
