Third Annual Antique & Collectibles Appraisal Day

Brattleboro Area Jewish Community (BAJC) will present their third annual “Antique & Collectibles Appraisal Day”   on Sunday afternoon, May 21st. from1:30 to 5:30 PM at 118 Elliot St., (across from the Brattleboro Fire Dept.). Experienced appraisers Richard Michelman, Kit Barry, Stephan Brandstatter, Charles Suss and Bill Smith Auctions will be present to evaluate and assess antiques and collectibles, including books, sterling silver, silver plate, glass and art glass, china and pottery, fine art and signed prints, musical instruments, records and entertainment memorabilia, jewelry, paper, ephemera including postcards, documents and photographs, small to medium sized furniture, toys & dolls, Asian items, metalware, clocks, barometers & watches, small to medium sized rugs, tschotchkes, and much more – but PLEASE, no firearms, knives, ammunition, or other weaponry, and no large rugs or bulky furniture.


Scrabble! A Fun Evening Out at Brooks Library

Stop by for Drop-in Scrabble, weekly on Wednesdays at 6 pm. No need to bring anything; we’ve got the boards and tiles. Newcomers welcome. See you there. Every Wenesday, except for the first Wednesday of each month, when you might want to drop in for the First Wednesdays lecture series! 


Kick Off March At The WVEW Dance Party

The first Thursday of a new month is coming right up, and that means it’s time for another WVEW Dance Party!  Join us on Thursday, March 2 at 118 Elliot for a fun and friendly evening of dancing to your favorite songs new and old.  DJs start spinning at 7pm.  From skiffle to disco, you’ll hear it all.  Come on out and shake your groove thang.  Boys and girls of all genres welcome.


Trivia Night at Brattleboro Sunrise Rotary Club To Benefit Brooks Library

Calling all trivia buffs and library supporters! This week, the Brattleboro Sunrise Rotary Club’s Trivia Night will benefit the Friends of Brooks Memorial Library.

Please join us on Monday, Feb. 13th, 6:30 pm – 8:45 pm at the American Legion Hall, 32 Linden St., Brattleboro. Teams can consist of 4 to 6 players. Bring your friends or join a team when you arrive. Dinner is provided by Entera Catering, and a cash bar will be available as well. Admission is $20 and includes dinner and a donation to the Friends.


Dinner & A Movie: SELMA @ Next Stage Arts

In honor of Black History Month, Next Stage presents: SELMA, historical drama film directed by Ava DuVernay on Thursday, February 23. It is based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches led by James Bevel,Hosea Williams, Martin Luther King, Jr. and John Lewis. DInner: 5:30 pm., Movie: 7:00 pm.

The film will be hosted by Artist, Essayist, Activist Shanta Lee.

Continuing by popular demand, Next Stage Arts Project and The Gleanery continue a special combination Dinner and A Movie on the fourth Thursday of the month.


VFW Lunch Specials Jan. 16th – Jan. 20th

The Brattleboro VFW at 40 Black Mountain Road is open to the public for lunch. Lunch is served from 11:30 – 1:30. Specials are only $6 a plate. Burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken wings, soups and sandwiches are also available.
