On Saturday the village was crowded with visitors from the neighboring towns, who were here for the purpose of witnessing the performances of Welch & Mann’s Circus. Between three and four thousand were present. In the afternoon the rain poured down in torrents, causing great trepidation among the “better half of creation,” who were liberally represented on the occasion.
