Brattleboro Selectboard Agenda and Notes – October 21, 2025

The Brattleboro Selectboard will again hold a meeting on a Tuesday evening, and they will discuss a new pedestrian and bike path being planned for along the Connecticut River.

They’ll also get annual updates from Interaction, and BDCC and SeVEDS. They’ll also learn about housing possibilities in town-owned properties and review their legislative priorities. You can bring up other items during public participation if they aren’t already on the agenda.

The Brattleboro Selectboard will hold a meeting on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 6:15pm in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the Brattleboro Municipal Center (230 Main Street, Room 212) and over Zoom. Prior to the meeting, the Board will meet at 5:00pm and is expected to enter immediately into executive session to discuss contracts and litigation. The attached agenda contains information on how to access the meeting remotely, including the required “passcode.” Closed captioning will be available for deaf and hard-of-hearing community members. The backup materials for this meeting will be available on the town Website by the end of the day.

Better Roads Grant – Approve Application

In a memorandum dated October 10, 2025 DPW Director Dan Tyler discusses the FY27 Vermont Better Roads grant application. DPW has selected a portion of South Street as an area to focus on. The total possible project cost is $25,000, $20,000 of which would come from the grant, with a $5000 match from the Town. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will approve the FY27 Vermont Better Roads Grant Application.

BDCC/SeVEDS Update (7:05 PM)

Representatives of the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) will present the BDCC’s annual request for a Town funding contribution to Southeastern Vermont Economic Development Strategies (SeVEDS). The Selectboard’s backup materials include a letter dated August 21, 2025, in which BDCC Executive Director Adam Grinold asks the Selectboard to include $36,147 for SeVEDS in the Town’s FY27 budget. Included in the Board’s materials is an overview that discusses the work SeVEDS accomplished in 2025.

POTENTIAL MOTION: TO ALLOCATE $36,147 FROM THE REVOLVING LOAN FUND TO
SEVEDS FOR FY27.

CT River Pathway Project (7:22 PM)
Presentation by Friends of the West River Trail

In a memorandum dated October 7, 2025 Planning Director Sue Fillion discusses the Friends of the West River Trail’s plan to create an approximate 1-mile-long pedestrian and bicycle pathway along the Connecticut River.
