The Brattleboro Selectboard will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 6:15pm in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the Brattleboro Municipal Center (230 Main Street, Room 212) and over Zoom. Prior to the regular meeting, at 5:15pm the Board will convene and is expected to enter directly into executive session to discuss real estate. The attached agenda contains information on how to access the meeting remotely, including the required “passcode.” Closed captioning will be available for deaf and hard-of-hearing community members. The backup materials for this meeting will be available on the town website by the end of the day.

Staff have reviewed and recommend approval of this license. Representatives from the Rail and River Tavern will be in the meeting should this item be pulled from Consent. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will approve an Entertainment License for the Rail and River Tavern located at 36 Bridge Street.
In a memorandum dated September 15, 2026, Town Clerk Hilary Francis discusses the Second Class Liquor License, Tobacco License, and Tobacco Substitute Endorsement Permit for J & K Grocery located at 69 Elliot Street. Town staff have reviewed and recommend approval of these licenses. Representatives from the establishment will be in the meeting should this item be pulled from Consent. In a memorandum dated September 4, 2026, Assistant Fire Chief Charles Keir discusses the reappointment of Inspector Steven Nelson as a Deputy Town Health Officer. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will reappoint Inspector Steven Nelson to serve as a Deputy Town Health Officer for the Town of Brattleboro for a term of three years.
In a memorandum dated September 11, 2026, Town Manager John Potter discusses his appointment as a Vermont League of Cities and Towns annual meeting delegate. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will appoint Town Manager John Potter as the Vermont League of Cities and Towns annual meeting delegate.
In a memorandum dated September 4, 2026, Town Assessor Jenepher Burnell discusses the changes to the Grand List and asks the Board to review and certify the Errors and Omissions changes to the 2026 Grand List. Included in the Board’s materials are several documents related to the Grand List. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will approve the Errors and Omissions certificate to the State.
In a memorandum dated September 14, 2026, DPW Highway Superintendent Darren Pachecco discusses the FY27 salt agreement with Morton Salt, Inc. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will execute an agreement with Morton Salt, Inc., allowing the Town of Brattleboro to participate as an Additional Purchaser under State of Vermont Contract #CTR006224 for the purchase of road salt for the 2026-2027 winter season.
In a memorandum dated September 8, 2026, DPW Director Dan Tyler discusses a wastewater agreement with the Algiers Fire District #1. Included in the Board’s materials is the new agreement. By approving the Consent Agenda, the Board will approve the wastewater agreement with Algiers Fire District #1 and authorize Town Manager John Potter to execute it on behalf of the Town.
