UFOs Cancelled Due to Snow

Instead of launching UFOs on the solstice, this year we will be carving more giant faces in some of the snow mounds that have cropped up all over Brattleboro. We will be meeting at the Bagel Works at 10 AM this Saturday. If you are interested in carving faces with us, come on down. Bring a shovel or a trowel. We had a great time carving these last winter, and they really add some good cheer to Brattleboro during dark December days.

Here is a link to a photo we took of last years face.

  • We have used eggplants for eyes

We have used eggplants for eyes. They work much better than coal when the faces are this big. We can’t bring enough eggplants for eyes, so either bring some of your own or bring some black cardboard.

  • We are doing this rain or shine

There really is no choice. If it is raining, it will be even more dreary, and the concomitant need for giant goofy carved faces will only be more pronounced.

    • Easy and fun

I made a giant snow face last year in a big pile near the end of the street. Easy and fun.

Dig out some eyes and darken them, shape a nose, dig out and darken a mouth. A face!

I have heard there may be an identified flying object over Brattleboro next week, making the rounds.

  • Wow,Chris, did you get a picture if it ?

It is indeed so easy to make these piles into giant faces.

I am buying some eggplants tonight, and also cutting up some black cardboard.

  • Speaking of UFO'S

Speaking of UFO’s did anyone else see the funny little green & red lights that were flying around in the sky between the Stone Church and up to the Courthouse area yesterday at about 4:40 pm. I know the Amazon drone delivery hasn’t started yet! A UFO practice run?

We, the faculty of the University of Brattleboro, refuse to answer as to whether we had anything to do with those lights,

but will say we are glad that someone saw something of the sort.
