Register For Classes At In-Sight Photography

We are open for registrations at the In-Sight Photography Project!

This semester we have a great selection of classes in both film and digital photography that are filling up fast. 

Students can get their photography fix from the following classes…

Film 1: I Can Haz Camera? – Mondays 4-6pm

Each student who enrolls in this class will be issued a manual 35mm film camera. Students who attend EVERY class and complete EVERY assignment will then be allowed to KEEP their camera…..FOREVER!!!!

This class, which is great for youth of all ages, will dive right into the basics and magic of traditional black and white film photography.  Students will learn how to use manual 35mm cameras, process their own film, and print their own images in the darkroom.  They will also learn how to see in a new way through the basic techniques of composition, shape, and light.

Film 2: Images For Change – Mondays 6-8pm

You have taken Film 1 and are ready to take your photography to the next level. In this class not only will you learn new and more advanced techniques with black and white film photography, but you will also learn how photography can affect social change locally and globally.

Digital 1: OH SNAP! – Wednesdays 4-6pm

Time to step up those snapshots of your cat and learn how to make some great digital photos!

This class is great for youth of all ages and will focus on the basics of digital photography, including camera operation, composition, lighting, basic image editing and archiving.

Digital 2: Pushing Pixels – Wednesdays 6-8pm

In this class students will continue to learn how to use and advance their skills with digital photography. It will have an emphasis on post processing, image manipulation, retouching, and more, using Adobe Photoshop.

Exposures Online Exchange – Thursdays 6-8pm

In this class students will use photography as a tool to look at their community, culture, identity and place. They will then share what they make with students at partner locations throughout the country. Discussion topics and images will be shared through a private online classroom that is accessible by each of the partnering sites.

In the past we have had partners in South Dakota, New Mexico, California, Chicago and several others.

Students who participate in this class will be eligible to apply for a traveling exchange program during Summer 2015.

Film 1: Homeschool Class – Thursdays 1-3pm

In-Sight and Oak Meadow will be offering an intro\intermediate black and white film photography class for homeschool students on Thursdays from 1pm – 3pm. The class will start the week of February 2 and run for 10 weeks.

In this class beginner students will learn the basics of film developing, darkroom printing and 35mm camera operation. Students with more experience will be able to explore advanced techniques in composition, lighting, and darkroom printing under the guidance of an instructor.

In-Sight provides photography courses to youth across the economic spectrum and provides all materials for every student regardless of their ability to pay class fees.
