Educational Experience of Vulnerable Students During COVID

We are trying to quantify the number of students at all levels who are not engaged or under-engaged and what we are doing to remedy the situation. Jaci mentioned the importance of identifying how many students are currently homeless.

A broad conversation ensued to clarify our question and process.

Emily will redraft the question and forward to Andy.

David will send the early part of the meeting video to Paul for review.

Title IX Policies- Title IX Policy needed-

Committee will present two draft policies (below) to the board for referral to the Amendment and Policy Committee. Additional co-curricular policies will follow.

Accurate fiscal information is necessary to assure equity in resources for co-curricular activities.

The Athletic Department will establish well-defined procedures for conducting inventories of equipment as part of the end-of-season plan for head coaches. Quantitative data will be maintained on uniform and equipment purchases by sport/gender that can be easily accessed as needed. Data will be updated three times a year.

The Athletic Department will maintain an ongoing record of any equipment/supplies purchased by booster groups in the school inventory that can be easily accessed as needed.

Additionally, the Committee will request the Athletic Department provide an initial report to the school board explaining how teams fundraise and which teams fundraise. This should include information on the process that is followed when initiating a fund-raising event and how the funds are disbursed.

The committee also heard a presentation from Chris Sawyer on the policy around playoff eligibility. Chris was encouraged to put the request in writing and send it to the principal, then the superintendent to bring to the board for consideration.
