Dan Welden Solo 100

Mitchell•Giddings Fine Arts, Brattleboro, Vermont, is honored to present Dan Welden: Solo 100, opening with an artist reception Sat., Oct. 21, and continuing through Jan. 14. An artist talk and demonstration are scheduled Thurs., Nov. 30. Solo 100 celebrates both his milestone 100th solo exhibition and his 82nd birthday. Gallery hours: Thurs. – Sat. 11 – 5, Sun. 12- 5.
With almost 60 years as printmaker, painter, author, educator and inventor of the solarplate etching process, Dan Welden’s presence in the world of printmaking is ubiquitous and profound. Solo 100 revolves around Welden’s own paintings and prints and a first-time showing of ‘masterworks,’ hand-pulled collaborative impressions created with current and past masters. Artists include Willem and Elaine de Kooning, Kiki Smith, Eric Fischl, Dan Flavin and a host of others.
