My Boy Is Seven and Someone Took His BMX Bike

Someone took my boy’s “Roadmaster” BMX bike. It is glossy black, with green handle grips, and has a black chain guard. We can’t remember if we wiped out all of the purple letters on the old chain guard or left some on, so there may still be some purple letters left.

The value of the bike is really derived from the effort he took in redecorating it. He actually worked on removing the old grips himself.

We know the odds of getting this bike back are minimal, but heck, you gotta try. If you see a bike fitting this description, it might not be the same bike. But, if you should see a bike matching this description, please let me via this site. Click on my name, and drop me a line, telling me where you saw it.

Thanks.

  • Sorry this happened, Rolf.

Sorry this happened, Rolf. Unfortunate that there are selfish idiots in the world who derive pleasure from hurting others. Was the bike at your house?
Poor kid. I had my bike stolen as a kid and can still recall my astonishment that someone would just take my beautiful bike. Hope it turns up.

  • There are bad guys, but this may have been innocent. Maybe.

Oh there are certainly people intent on harming others, but in this case, we don’t know for sure what the motive was.

Whoever took the bike may even have thought it was free. It may have been left at the end of the driveway, which sometimes is near where we leave free things to be taken by whoever wants it.

That’s the most charitable view of the situation, and it may be correct. We just want to get the bike back, or, at least put in a good effort to do so.
