  • I took my car to the parking

I took my car to the parking garage on sunday afternoon. Monday morning I received a $10 ticket which I found when I removed my car Tuesday morning at 8am.

Bratt will take your $150 for a tow, yet I NEVER see tickets for lack of sidewalk clearing.

Leah G. has a story about nightmare parking in The Commons and people on Facebook are upset at the random ticketing, towing on a Friday night, etc.

Why I was fined for doing exactly what I was asked to do makes no sense.

    • Inquire

You might know already, that you can take it to the Transportation Center DMV enforcement office, ground floor. I think they have been reasonable about either explanting or rescinding a ticket.

    • Seems like a valid objection

To object to a ticket, you have to write to the town (don’t go to the parking office – they just issue tickets). Put your note in the fine envelope.

Someone somewhere (who?) makes a decision based on your request. They don’t respond if they agree with you (or at least didn’t when I objected and wrote to them). Not sure what happens if they disagree with you.

Ahh, tickets. We need tickets and fines to pay for the salaries of those who issue tickets and fines. It’s part of being business friendly and resident agnostic, right? I was just reading an 1890’s account of a meeting of local businessmen who thought the number one issue was to buy the Hinsdale bridge and get rid of the tolls – which they saw as a big drag on the economy. They didn’t hold meetings to see how to increase tolls, or fine people who paid tolls incorrectly. That’s modern thinking’…

      • Removed ticket after my explanation

The parking office, does do more than issues tickets. I’ve had at least 1 occasion where they removed the ticket via computer after my explanation. Either way, if the 10 bucks is worth it, do something, or just pay it.

        • Between this and the Friday

Between this and the Friday nightmare towing situation a few weeks ago, I just want some clarity. I’ll absolutely pay the ticket.
